The flooding was triggered when a landslide blocked the river, forming a temporary dam that eventually breached and released a surge of water. Local authorities have urged residents to move to safer areas and remain alert as the situation develops. Simon is forecasted to strengthen to a Category 4 n the next 24 hours, with landfall expected on Sunday. Parts of Michoacán, Colima, Jalisco, and Nayarit could experience up to 25 inches of rainfall. 🇳🇵⚒️- 159 individuals shelter from what remains of 🇳🇵⚒️- 159 individuals shelter from what remains of a small village near the border of Nepal. A growing economic township destined to become a strong asset to the country, is completely devastes after the August 26th flood; leaving just six homes barely standing and over 1,000 people unaccounted for. 🏘️ ROWW set with the surviving victims who all were rescued within the days following the disaster. We made arrangements to deliver additional items requested to the Mustang camp, housing the people left behind of Timure. Through Sonam, “Sam”, our local connection, we learned of many circumstances. Sam lost his entire family. One sister, who was away at college is the only relative he has remaining from Timure. These survivors, who all had to be rescued by helicoptor, solomnly set without speaking, trying to digest- that their entire town is now gone. Can we- as outsiders truly appreciate the pain that looms within the borders of Nepal? #timure #community #roww #survivors
🏘️🇳🇵ROWW VISITS SHREE JAKHANISTHAN BASIC SCHOOL in 🏘️🇳🇵ROWW VISITS SHREE JAKHANISTHAN BASIC SCHOOL in Mulkot, Nepal While working in Nepal during the current flooding disaster along the Trishuli River, our teams made their way 9 hours to the east to a similar scene caused by a 2024 flooding event near the #Bahgmati River; after a massive landslide occurred two Septembers ago. ⚒️ The school supplies we delivered to the students were received with smiles and laughter. Visits here are rare. Assessments on future repairs were done and estimates for building flood walls to protect this school were taken. 🙏🏻 ROWW spent the night with the children and shared dinner with the teachers, we now call friends.
