Frequently Asked Questions
ROWW is always looking for more great volunteers. Because ROWW's teams are relatively small, we aim to recruit volunteers with specialized skills that are applicable to each deployment: doctors, firefighters, paramedics, nurses, EMTs, heavy equipment operators, contractors, chainsaw specialists, photographers, etc. If you believe you have skills relevant to our deployments, contact us at responders@roww.org to fill out a volunteer application. We are currently only recruiting volunteers that live in the United States.
Although ROWW primarily aims to deploy volunteers with specialized skills that are professionals in their specific deployment-related field, there are other opportunities to be involved. Particularly if there is an event or a disaster in your state/city - you can be a big help! Please stay tuned for events or deployments near you by following our social media and subscribing to our newsletter.
We would love to attend every event, but unfortunately, ROWW is comprised of a very small staff and our availability for events is very limited. If you are hosting an event and would like ROWW to attend, please contact us at info@roww.org with a date, location, description of the event, number of attendees expected, and a list of current sponsors. We appreciate ALL individual efforts to help promote and raise funds for ROWW, and whether or not we can attend, we appreciate being in the loop and will help where we can.
We reserve our social media posts for deployment updates and events we are attending. Unfortunately, we cannot help promote via our social media other events and fundraisers that we are not attending. When advertising your event, be sure to clearly state that ROWW is a beneficiary of your event (not a partner or sponsor).
Typically, ROWW does not know where we're deploying until days before we deploy. This is because we are responding to natural disasters that rarely give any warning. We will not know whether we're deploying until we can fully assess the disaster for: safety of our volunteers, local assistance requested (the need), and how our team's capabilities can best be used to provide a meaningful impact - making sure your donations are well spent.
Yes, donations made to ROWW are 100% tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. ROWW is a registered 501(c)3 California Non-profit Corporation. Our EIN is 27-3237943. Consult your accountant for contributions relating to merchandise sales and events.
