A Year Later: Looking back at ROWW’s Hurricane H A Year Later: Looking back at ROWW’s Hurricane Helene deployment, a 2024 category 4 level hurricane

ROWW had boots on the ground only 12 hrs after Helene made landfall, chasing the storm’s path and helping people along the way. ROWW lead relief efforts and provided initial reporting about the immense damage Asheville, NC had sustained and aid that was needed there.

For ROWW, this deployment had it all: from sleeping on cots with a local fire crew and door-to-door search and rescue to finding our way on foot through the devastation to reach stranded residents, roadway clearance for emergency crews, helicopter evacuations, large team supply distribution centers, reestablishing communications for the community, and resident aid. It was a collaborative effort between local residential leaders and fellow NGOs simultaneously tackling emergencies and needs as they surfaced. Ultimately Team ROWW spent 13 consecutive days in Asheville and logged over 1,000 hrs from over 30 volunteers! THANK YOU to all the people involved in this deployment 🙏

Additionally, with the help of @loweshomeimprovement, ROWW returned to Madison County, North Carolina in January 2025 to provide appliances, supplies, and crews to aid in rebuild efforts.

Immediately after the Helene Deployment, ROWW headed South to Tampa, FL, established a base and prepared for search & rescue missions in anticipation of Hurricane Milton.

Following six months of continuous Eaton Fire reco Following six months of continuous Eaton Fire recovery efforts in Los Angeles County, CA, Reach Out WorldWide has received funding through the American Red Cross 2025 California Wildfire Long-Term Recovery Program. The grant will support ROWW’s long-term wildfire recovery efforts, including broader community outreach and referrals, household needs assessments, and targeted distributions of furniture, appliances, clothing, and more. ROWW’s emphasis on recognizing and helping the underserved, displaced, and rent-burdened residents dates back to founder Paul Walker’s original mission when starting the organization of “fulfilling the unmet need” following a disaster.
