1. Download Offline Maps: Google Maps allows you to download your entire city for use without data.

2. Text, Don’t Call: Texts use less bandwidth and are more likely to go through when networks are congested.

We’re headed into March, which is the perfect time to check that emergency “go-bag” you shoved in the closet last year. When the ROWW team hits the ground after a storm, we see firsthand that emergency preparedness changes everything.

You don’t need a bunker, you just need the basics. Here are the 3 things we usually see missing in people’s kits:

1. Power bank, fully charged: Your phone is your lifeline in a crisis. A dead battery bank is useless—check the charge today and set a recurring reminder.

2. Sealed Documents: Insurance papers, ID, and emergency cash. Put them in a double-sealed bag. Flood water ruins paper faster than you think.

3. Spare glasses and meds: If you can’t see, you can’t evacuate safely. Keep an old pair of glasses and a 3-day supply of essentials in your bag.

When a disaster hits, we don’t just send supplies, we send people. People like Lee “Beetle” Bailey, who has been on 5 deployments with ROWW in 2025. We want to recognize all of his hard work and time he has dedicated to ROWW. He has given more than 250 volunteer hours, in 4 states and 1 international deployment. He has led multiple roof repairs, and is an integral part of the ROWW family. We appreciate the continued love that Beetle has shown with his service driven heart and his hard work ethic.
